About the Net |
the Carrier Net
The Carrier Net is
a friendly group of Ham Radio operators meeting on 3935 kcs Monday
through Saturday at 9:00 A.M. Carrier Net members are mostly from
Northeastern USA.
WA2HXX, Peter Merlow and W1KKD started the net in 1967 on Amplitude Modulation
(carrier signals). The net has since moved to Single Side Band.
All licensed amateurs are welcome.
The typical net consists of approximately 25 to 35
participants. Prior to the net, a pre-net group discusses and solves many of the "world's problems."
Over 300 members are listed on the Carrier Net Full Roster.
To become a member, send a log of five check-ins (dates and NCS callsigns) to the net manager and request
membership. This can be done by USPS or email. In
return, you will be placed on our membership roster
and will receive a membership certificate (see
sample) suitable
for framing.
